About

I am a Research Fellow in the Santini Lab based in the Structural and Molecular Biology Department at UCL. My work within the ELEMENTAL Hub focuses on developing enzyme-based metal biosensors. I am currently exploring electrochemical detection of arsenate and antimonite, aiming to deliver sensitive and robust tools for environmental monitoring. Before joining the Hub, I worked at a biocatalysis start-up, where I focused on directed evolution of industrially useful oxidoreductases. I completed my PhD at the University of Bristol, where I worked on designing photoactivatable cofactor-containing proteins in Prof. Ross Anderson’s lab.

Key areas of expertise:

  • Protein chemistry, focusing on cofactor-containing redox enzymes
  • Protein design and engineering
  • Protein electrochemistry
