Research interests

Microbes have been mining, reducing, oxidizing and transforming Earth's chemistry for about 3.4 billion years. Acidophiles (microbes living in acidic environments) may hold the key to master these processes in a sustainable and efficient way: my research focuses on uncovering these microbial abilities to enable environmentally responsible mining practices.
