The ELEMENTAL Engineering Biology Mission Hub is pleased to offer a limited number of funding awards to support Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs) to attend the EBIC Early Career Researcher (ECR) Conference on 16-17 September 2026 in Southampton.
These awards will cover the £250 conference registration fee.
Two-step process:
Applicants must first apply to the EBIC conference directly and then apply separately for ELEMENTAL funding.
Step 1: Apply to the EBIC Conference
- Deadline to register and submit abstract: 17:00, 17 April 2026
- Notification of abstract acceptance: by 8 May 2026
You must have submitted an abstract and intend to present (poster or talk) to be eligible for ELEMENTAL funding.
Step 2: Apply for ELEMENTAL funding
- Deadline to apply for funding: 17:00, 22 May 2026
- Funding decision notification: mid-June 2026
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a PDRA (Postdoctoral Research Associate)
- Be a member of the ELEMENTAL Mission Hub
If you are not yet a member, you can apply via our membership form - Have submitted an abstract to the EBIC ECR Conference and confirmed to be presenting (poster or talk)
What the funding covers
- Conference registration fee (£250)
- Please note travel and accommodation costs are not included and must be covered by the applicant.
